The Montblanc Bohème Paso Doble Rouge Fountain Pen 104923 is a new old stock piece. It has never been inked or written with. It may show minor handling marks from storage and display over the years but presents in excellent condition throughout and is indistinguishable from new in normal use.

The barrel and cap are metal engraved with a guilloche pattern inspired by the Paso Doble dance and coated in red lacquer throughout. The engraved pattern covers the full surface of both barrel and cap, giving the pen a tactile depth that photographs do not fully convey. The Montblanc emblem is inlaid into the cap. The clip is platinum-plated and set with a synthetic ruby-coloured gemstone - a detail that ties the red of the clip stone to the red lacquer of the barrel and cap deliberately. Three platinum-plated rings embossed with the Montblanc brand name sit at the barrel joints. No issues to report on lacquer, engraving, cap, clip, ruby gemstone setting, or fittings.

The nib is an 18k gold nib with rhodium finish and is retractable - unique in the Montblanc catalogue - retracting into the barrel with a click mechanism that allows the pen to be carried and used without a cap. The pen accepts cartridge refills only and has not been inked. It writes as new.

This pen comes complete with its original Montblanc box and papers.

We use five condition grades across all listings:

  1. Mint - The pen shows no signs of use or wear. It may or may not include original box and papers. It presents as new.
  2. Excellent - The pen shows minimal signs of use. Any wear is very minor and typically only visible under close inspection. It writes perfectly.
  3. Very Good - The pen shows light signs of use consistent with careful ownership. There may be light surface scratches or minor brassing on trim. It writes perfectly.
  4. Good - The pen shows clear signs of use. Wear is honest and disclosed in the listing. It writes well. Good condition pieces represent the strongest value in our collection.
  5. Fair - The pen shows significant wear or has a specific issue disclosed in full in the listing. Fair condition pieces are typically for collectors who intend restoration or who want a specific model at the lowest possible entry point.
