The Montblanc Donation Pen John Lennon Special Edition Ballpoint Pen, reference 105808, is pre-owned and presents in excellent condition. One or two light scratches are visible on the black precious resin under direct light and close inspection, and these appear to come from storage rather than use.

Released in 2010 to mark 70 years since John Lennon’s birth, this edition draws on his music. The black precious resin is cut with fine grooves that resemble a vinyl record. The platinum-coated clip is shaped like a guitar neck, with tuning pegs and etched strings. A platinum-coated plaque is engraved with Lennon’s self-portrait, a sketch he often drew in place of a signature.

Montblanc linked the edition to its support for music education, including a partnership with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a US non-profit that helps young people compose, perform, record and produce music.

The pen has a twist mechanism and takes standard Montblanc ballpoint refills. It measures about 142mm in length.

This pen comes complete with its special box, papers and a vinyl record of Imagine.

  2. Excellent - The pen shows minimal signs of use. Any wear is very minor and typically only visible under close inspection. It writes perfectly.
  3. Very Good - The pen shows light signs of use consistent with careful ownership. There may be light surface scratches or minor brassing on trim. It writes perfectly.
  4. Good - The pen shows clear signs of use. Wear is honest and disclosed in the listing. It writes well. Good condition pieces represent the strongest value in our collection.
  5. Fair - The pen shows significant wear or has a specific issue disclosed in full in the listing. Fair condition pieces are typically for collectors who intend restoration or who want a specific model at the lowest possible entry point.
