The Montblanc Meisterstück Platinum-Coated Classique Ballpoint Pen is an unused example. It may show minor handling marks from private ownership but presents in mint condition throughout and is indistinguishable from new in normal use.

The barrel and cap are black precious resin inlaid with the white Montblanc emblem at the cap top. Three platinum-coated rings with embossed Montblanc lettering and a platinum-coated clip with an individual serial number define the exterior. The Meisterstück Classique is among the most recognised writing instruments ever produced and has remained essentially unchanged in design since its introduction in 1924. Every detail of this pen has been deliberately preserved across that century - the deep black resin, the white star, the three rings, the serial-numbered clip. There is nothing superfluous and nothing missing. No issues to report on barrel, cap, rings, clip, or fittings.

The pen writes via a twist mechanism with a standard Montblanc ballpoint refill. It has never been used and writes as new. Compatible refill colours include Mystery Black, Pacific Blue, Nightfire Red, Fortune Green, Amethyst Purple, and Barbados Blue.

This pen includes the original box and papers.

We use five condition grades across all listings:

  1. Mint - The pen shows no signs of use or wear. It may or may not include original box and papers. It presents as new.
  2. Excellent - The pen shows minimal signs of use. Any wear is very minor and typically only visible under close inspection. It writes perfectly.
  3. Very Good - The pen shows light signs of use consistent with careful ownership. There may be light surface scratches or minor brassing on trim. It writes perfectly.
  4. Good - The pen shows clear signs of use. Wear is honest and disclosed in the listing. It writes well. Good condition pieces represent the strongest value in our collection.
  5. Fair - The pen shows significant wear or has a specific issue disclosed in full in the listing. Fair condition pieces are typically for collectors who intend restoration or who want a specific model at the lowest possible entry point.
