The Montblanc Meisterstück Solitaire Calligraphy Gold Leaf LeGrand Rollerball 119689 is a new old stock piece. It has never been used. It may show minor handling marks from storage and display over the years but presents in excellent condition throughout and is indistinguishable from new in normal use.

The barrel and cap are black translucent lacquer embellished with real gold leaf applied by hand. The gold leaf application means that no two examples of this pen are identical - the organic nature of hand-applied gold leaf produces a pattern unique to each individual piece. The clip and three rings are finished in full black PVD coating with the Montblanc brand name embossed on each ring. The contrast between the deep translucent black lacquer and the warm hand-applied gold creates a finish that sits visually between jewellery and writing instrument. The PVD coated clip carries an individual serial number in the clip ring. No issues to report on barrel, cap, lacquer, gold leaf application, clip, or fittings.

The pen writes via a standard Montblanc rollerball refill and has never been used. It writes as new. It is also compatible with a Montblanc fineliner refill. The cap closes with a screw mechanism which seals the tip fully between uses.

This pen comes complete with its original Montblanc box, service guide, and outer carton.

We use five condition grades across all listings:

  1. Mint - The pen shows no signs of use or wear. It may or may not include original box and papers. It presents as new.
  2. Excellent - The pen shows minimal signs of use. Any wear is very minor and typically only visible under close inspection. It writes perfectly.
  3. Very Good - The pen shows light signs of use consistent with careful ownership. There may be light surface scratches or minor brassing on trim. It writes perfectly.
  4. Good - The pen shows clear signs of use. Wear is honest and disclosed in the listing. It writes well. Good condition pieces represent the strongest value in our collection.
  5. Fair - The pen shows significant wear or has a specific issue disclosed in full in the listing. Fair condition pieces are typically for collectors who intend restoration or who want a specific model at the lowest possible entry point.
