The Montblanc Model M by Marc Newson 117147 is a new old stock piece. It has never been inked or written with. It may show minor handling marks from storage and display over the years but presents in excellent condition throughout and is indistinguishable from new in normal use.

The barrel and cap are black precious resin. The barrel features a flat section on the rear face - referred to as the plateau - where the Montblanc emblem is embedded in white. This was a deliberate design decision by Marc Newson, who moved the iconic white star from the tip of the cap to the flat surface of the barrel to give the pen a distinctly different personality from any other Montblanc writing instrument. The cap also carries the Montblanc emblem. The platinum-plated clip carries an individual serial number engraved in the clip ring. The pen features an innovative magnetic cap closure that automatically aligns the cap with the Montblanc emblem on the plateau, and an additional magnet built into the plateau allows the cap to rest there securely while writing. No issues to report on barrel, cap, clip, or fittings.

The nib is a handcrafted 14k gold nib, rhodium-plated with a ruthenium-coated inlay. The pen fills via cartridge and is also compatible with a Montblanc converter for bottled ink use. It has not been inked and writes as new. Compatible ink cartridges include Mystery Black, Royal Blue, Midnight Blue, Burgundy Red, Lavender Purple, Oyster Gray, Toffee Brown, Irish Green, and Corn Poppy Red.

This pen comes complete with its original Montblanc case, outer packaging, and service guide.
