The Montblanc Writers Edition Honoré de Balzac Rollerball Pen, reference 109295, is pre-owned and presents in excellent condition. Minor light scratches are visible on the cap under close inspection. It comes with its original box and papers.

Released in 2013, this limited edition honours Honoré de Balzac, the 19th century French novelist and playwright best known for La Comédie Humaine. The design draws on the dandyism of his time, and the oversized shape reflects his bold stature.

The barrel is finished in grey lacquer with guilloché decoration that recalls the cutaway coats worn by Parisian gentlemen, paired with a black precious resin cap carrying Balzac’s signature. The platinum-coated clip has turquoise lacquer on top, symbolising his decorated walking cane. The platinum and gold-coated rings run from a simple design at the cone to a more elaborate one at the top of the cap, referring to the social classes that emerged in early 19th century France, a recurring theme in his work.

The pen takes standard Montblanc rollerball refills and also accepts a fineliner refill.

This rollerball is number 1,056 of 8,400 made worldwide, and it comes complete with its original box and papers.
